Who we are
This site is operated by LaundryMate, a laundry and dry cleaning service based at 53, Jalan Medan Putra 1, Bandar Menjalara, 52200 Kuala Lumpur. We are the data controller for the information described below. Questions go to admin@laundrymate.com.my or +60133281614.
What we collect
To run a collection and delivery service we need your name, phone number, email address, and the address we are collecting from and returning to. If you create an account we also keep your password in hashed form, so we cannot read it. Our servers record the usual technical details of a visit: IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used for security and to keep the site working.
Payment information
Online payments are handled by our licensed payment gateway, CHIP (CHIP IN SDN BHD), and by the banks and card schemes behind it. Your full card number, expiry date and CVV are entered on the gateway's own secure page and are never sent to, processed by, or stored on our servers. What we receive back is the payment status, the amount, a gateway reference, and the last four digits and brand of the card so you and we can identify the transaction on an invoice.
For orders priced by weight we ask the gateway to place a hold on your card (an authorisation, not a charge) and to capture only the final invoiced amount once your items have been weighed. The card credential used for this is held by the gateway under its own PCI DSS certification, and it is used solely to settle the order it was given for. We do not charge stored cards for anything else and we cannot see the card details ourselves.
Why we collect it
Only to fulfil your order and run the business: routing a driver to you, telling you when we are on the way, weighing and invoicing your items, taking payment, issuing a receipt, and answering you if something goes wrong. We keep a record of past orders so you can see them in your account, and we use aggregate figures to plan routes and staffing. If you have asked for them, we send occasional service updates or offers, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Our drivers see the name, phone number and address for the orders they are collecting. Our payment gateway receives the amount and your contact details so it can process the payment and issue a receipt. Our hosting and database provider stores the data on our behalf under contract. We disclose information to the authorities only where the law requires it. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
The site runs over HTTPS, so everything you send us is encrypted in transit. Order and account data sits in a managed database with access restricted to our own staff accounts, and passwords are stored hashed. Some of our providers process data on servers outside Malaysia; where that happens they are bound by contract to protect it to the standard required by the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for seven years to meet Malaysian tax and accounting requirements. Account details are kept while your account is open. You can ask us to close your account and delete your personal details at any time, and we will remove everything we are not legally required to retain.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected, limit how we use it, or withdraw your consent for us to process it. Withdrawing consent for the data we need to fulfil an order means we cannot complete that order. Email admin@laundrymate.com.my and we will respond within 21 days.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site. Blocking cookies in your browser will stop you from signing in, but the rest of the site will still work.
Children
Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and move the date at the top. Material changes are announced on the site.
